Hi, I’m Sophie, the resident housekeeper and manager of Scoor House. I live on-site and take great pride in welcoming guests and ensuring your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Scoor House is set in the beautiful Ross of Mull, an area known for its unspoilt landscapes, white sandy beaches, and peaceful atmosphere. The area is rich in wildlife, with opportunities to see sea eagles, hen harriers, and red deer in their natural habitat. In my spare time, I enjoy photography and crafting, and some of my handmade pieces can be found here at Scoor House and in local shops across Mull and on Iona. If you’re looking for tranquillity, natural beauty, and a true escape from everyday life, Scoor House is the perfect place to unwind.

Scoor House is a converted traditional two-storey farmhouse, now offering four fully equipped self-catering apartments, along with an adjoining cottage. The property is set in a tranquil, remote location approximately three miles from Bunessan on the southwest tip of the Isle of Mull. Please note that access is via a two-mile unpaved farm track, which adds to the sense of seclusion and countryside escape. Garden Cottage is attached to Scoor House and benefits from its own private entrance and a fully enclosed private garden area, separate from the main communal grounds. The cottage offers flexible accommodation arranged over two levels. On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms comprising a single room and a twin room, sleeping three guests in total. An additional attic bedroom provides further sleeping accommodation for up to four guests. Please note that all beds are single. Garden Cottage is well suited to families and groups seeking a peaceful rural retreat, with nearby beaches, scenic walks, and abundant local wildlife. Guests also have access to an on-site laundry facility, which includes washing machines, tumble dryers, drying racks, and an iron for convenience during their stay.

Scoor House is set in a wonderfully peaceful and remote location, around three miles from the village of Bunessan and the main road. Access is via a two-mile farm track, which can be uneven in places and is best taken slowly—part of the journey that helps make this hidden corner of Mull feel so special. Surrounded by open countryside, the property offers far-reaching views towards Loch Assapol, with the sea visible to both the east and west. It’s an ideal setting to relax, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Ross of Mull. Just a short walk from the house, you’ll find two beautiful white sandy beaches—Scoor and Kilvickeon—along with the historic abandoned township of Shiaba, perfect for exploring and taking in the area’s unique character. Scoor House is surrounded by a working farm, so you may see livestock in the surrounding fields. For their safety and comfort, we kindly ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times.
