Hi, I’m Sophie, the resident housekeeper and manager of Scoor House. I live on-site and take great pride in welcoming guests and ensuring your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Scoor House is set in the beautiful Ross of Mull, an area known for its unspoilt landscapes, white sandy beaches, and peaceful atmosphere. The area is rich in wildlife, with opportunities to see sea eagles, hen harriers, and red deer in their natural habitat. In my spare time, I enjoy photography and crafting, and some of my handmade pieces can be found here at Scoor House and in local shops across Mull and on Iona. If you’re looking for tranquillity, natural beauty, and a true escape from everyday life, Scoor House is the perfect place to unwind.

Scoor House is a traditional two-storey farmhouse that has been converted into four fully equipped self-catering apartments, with an additional adjacent cottage. The property is set in a rural and remote location, approximately three miles from Bunessan, on the south-west tip of the Isle of Mull. Access is via a two-mile farm track, adding to the sense of seclusion and escape. Cnoc Mor is located on the upper floor to the left and features a large front-facing window with beautiful countryside views stretching towards Loch Assapol and the coastline to both the east and west. The apartment is well suited to couples, small families, or small groups seeking a peaceful retreat. An on-site laundry facility is also available for guests’ convenience.

Scoor House is set in a wonderfully peaceful and remote location, around three miles from the village of Bunessan and the main road. Access is via a two-mile farm track, which can be uneven in places and is best taken slowly—part of the journey that helps make this hidden corner of Mull feel so special. Surrounded by open countryside, the property offers far-reaching views towards Loch Assapol, with the sea visible to both the east and west. It’s an ideal setting to relax, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Ross of Mull. Just a short walk from the house, you’ll find two beautiful white sandy beaches—Scoor and Kilvickeon—along with the historic abandoned township of Shiaba, perfect for exploring and taking in the area’s unique character. Scoor House is surrounded by a working farm, so you may see livestock in the surrounding fields. For their safety and comfort, we kindly ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times.
