The hamlet of Hutton John is located just off the A66, the location is perfect for exploring Lake Ullswater, Keswick, Caldbeck Fells and accessing the Eden Valley. There are an abundance of walks from the door including Great Mell Fell which leads to Aira Force and the Caldbeck Fells are a short drive. Lake Ullswater offers numerous watersport opportunities including canoeing, wind surfing and paddle boarding, or if a quieter way of life if preferred jump aboard the Ullswater Steamers and take in the views as you sail around the lake. The Rheged centre with shops, cinema and galleries are a short drive away, as is Dalemain House and the Alpaca Centre. Located on the Hutton John Estate, the owners have provided luxurious home from home accommodation with the emphasis on Eco friendly materials. Shepherds Retreat is a traditional shepherds cabin with an open plan interior, in the grounds of the Estates walled garden, the cabin is sheltered from prying eyes giving guests a peaceful break away at any time of year. The cabin has wheelchair access (please check requirements prior to booking), dining furniture on the patio and a wood fired hot tub. The cabin has solar powered electric under floor heating and comprises: Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with Smart TV. The kitchen has Belfast sink, oven, induction hob, fridge, microwave and breakfast bar. Bedroom with super king size bed. Shower room with vanity unit and WC. All electric, gas, bed linen, towels and dressing gowns. 1 well behaved dog welcome. Private parking for 2 cars. Private decking area with table and chairs, wood-fired hot tub, please bring your own logs and shared use of the rest of the garden..
