The Smugglers is under new ownership as of 2024 and is the sister location to the well-known and established Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale, which we've proudly run since 2018. We’re delighted to welcome you to the Smugglers Hotel, a historic, family-run hotel in the heart of Brixham. Parts of our charming building date back to the mid-1600s and, over the years, it has been everything from a boarding house to a carpenter's workshop – and even the home of the famous Brixham smuggler Bob Elliott. Today, we’re proud to offer a warm welcome, clean and comfortable en-suite rooms and a delicious breakfast included with every stay. Under new ownership, the Smugglers is now open as a hotel offering room stays with breakfast included and we’re thrilled to have the Smugglers Bar & Restaurant open for lunch and supper, serving the best of land and sea with locally sourced ingredients. Lunch and supper are available to book separately and we highly recommend reserving a table in advance, especially during weekends and holidays. We happily welcome children and dogs in designated rooms and in the front section of our bar and restaurant, creating a relaxed, cosy space where everyone can feel at home.
