Managed through The Duke of Buckingham Hotel in Old Portsmouth we enjoy hosting individuals, couples, families, and groups at the property and hope to make your stay as welcoming as possible. Although we operate a self-check-in/self-check-out system we do have a dedicated 24-hour number that can be called outside of the hotel’s operating hours of 09:00 – 22:00 should an emergency arise.

Situated minutes from Palmerston Road and its myriad of shops, bars, and restaurants, there are activities for all ages to enjoy right on your doorstep.

Neighborhood info

Situated opposite Southsea Common with Henry VIII’s Castle and the award-winning D-Day Museum where the last surviving Landing Craft used during D-Day can be seen. It is within minutes walking distance of Palmerston Road, eclectic Castle Road, and Albert Road with its myriad of shops, bars, and restaurants and where food and craft markets are held regularly. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a leisurely 20 minute walk away and so is Gunwharf Quays, one of the UK’s premium shopping outlets including Portsmouth’s landmark, the 105m high Spinnaker Tower. An abundance of restaurants can also be found there as well as in the adjacent Old Portsmouth neighbourhood overlooking the narrow harbour entrance.
