Built in 1898, Springburn Cottage is full of character and history – George Bernard Shaw stayed here. Situated in the Highland village of Strachur on the banks of Loch Fyne in Argyll, it’s been lovingly restored and is full of country charm. The living room is warm and inviting with a fireplace and wooden floors. The country kitchen/dining is a lovely space area with a beamed ceiling and a quarry-tiled floor. The bathroom and utility room are also downstairs. There’s a steep staircase to first floor where there are two spacious double bedrooms, one with an ornamental fireplace and a sofa-bed (for +one). The cottage is just 100 metres from Loch Fyne's beach. There’s plenty to do, from walking to boating to fishing. It's also well placed to explore the rest of this lovely part of the west coast of Scotland. The local shop is one mile down the road and a pub and tennis courts are one and a half miles away.

Strachur, in a beautiful area of Argyll, is a small fishing village with a few local amenities and the world famous Creggans Hotel just down the road. The larger town of Dunoon is only 20 miles away for that bit of shopping. Alternatively if you are looking for a day out in Argyll, the Arrocher Alps and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are all within easy reach by car.
