This award-winning family-run B&B is set opposite Lake Windermere in a 19th-century property which was the former gatehouse to Storrs Hall. The restored Storrs Gate House B & B No pets Allowed offers sumptuous bedrooms with free Wi-Fi, hearty breakfasts, and free, ample parking. Local and home-made produce are a feature of our traditional and varied English Breakfast menu. Free-range eggs from Bannerigg Farm in Windermere, hand-made large Cumberland sausage and AA grade bacon are supplied by the award winning local butchers Plumgarths. Our lovely Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free options are also catered for with pleasure. Enjoy our home-made produce which include jam, marmalade, yogurt and home-baked fruit muffins. The bedrooms are decorated with rich fabrics and colors. All rooms have a mini-bar and a hairdryer, and bathrooms feature power showers and The White Company toiletries. Storrs Gate is less than a mile from Bowness-on-Windermere, with a stunning lake close by. There is a lot to do in the Lake District, including fishing, walking and cycling. Far Sawrey - Bowness on Windermere ferry Nab is a 5-minutes walk away, where guests can explore the western side of Windermere and Wray Castle is 3-miles away.

Storrs Gate House is a delightful 19-century detached house close to Lake Windermere. ( free on-site residents parking ). NO PETS ALLOWED. It was originally the northern gatehouse to Storrs Hall, being the manor house. Susann & Glenn have run Storrs Gate House since 1st March, 2019 , and have steadily upgraded and sympathetically extended the business to achieve the accolade of Bed & Breakfast of the Year in the Cumbria Tourism Awards. Friendly, family run and with a relaxed atmosphere, Please note that hot food and takeaway food is not permitted in our bedrooms, we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful home

Neighborhood info

Lake District World Heritage Status awarded in 2017. Storrs Gate House is located opposite Windermere Marina village, they have a lovely Bar & restaurant to sit and watch the boats in. We are minutes away from Lake Windermere and the Windermere car ferry. Also a 15 minute walk along the Lake gets you to Bowness-on-Windermere, a honeypot village and a wealth of restaurants, café culture, shops, bars and Lake cruises, Tours of the Lake District can be arranged during your stay by bus, taxi, boat or your own car. or maybe you would just like to find beautiful walks around the many lovely walking routes.
