It has been equipped and furnished in a careful blend of contemporary and traditional boutique-hotel style to provide a relaxing and comfortable base for your holiday. The whole house is flooded with light throughout the day. Wifi and Welcome pack are provided. Downstairs the sitting room is furnished with Laura Ashley sofas and French windows open out onto the courtyard - perfect for bringing the outside in or sitting out with a glass of wine or morning coffee. The stylish kitchen/dining area incorporates a peninsular bar so the cook doesn't miss out on any action! There is also a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there is a beautiful mahogany, hand-carved four-poster bed in the main bedroom with stunning sunburst canopy. The twin bedroom is fresh and sunny. Both bedrooms have crisp bedlinen and proper pillows. There is a contemporary bathroom ( large bath with shower over). Outside there are two patio areas (one private area to the side of the house) furnished with mature hydrangeas, palms and shrubs. Seating for 4 is provided. Parking for one car.

Welcome to The Auction House, our Island home for the last few years! We live on the mainland near Stratford-on-Avon (about as far away from the sea as it gets in England!) and love coming over for a little R. and R. - which the Island provides in abundance. There really is something for everyone and life here is a little slower here - and much sunnier! Terry is a retired architect and Christine worked with deprived children. We love visiting our holiday homes in beautiful parts of England (we have Tremodrett House Barn in Cornwall and The Barn at Titley in Herefordshire). We are passionate about good hospitality and great customer service- and love having happy guests! As we use all our properties as our own holiday homes we like to think they are furnished to a high standard with lots of little extras and touches which our guests appreciate so that guests feel they are " home from home". Ryde makes a great base for an Island holiday. We are only 5 minutes walk from the 6 miles of sandy beaches and marina. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bars just around the corner and with Ryde's beautiful architecture and pier it makes a relaxing base for your holiday. It is easy to get everywhere even if you come without your car as the Island bus service is very good. Ryde has an Island-wide transport hub and train connecting Ryde to the seaside towns of Shanklin and Sandown. For our younger guests there is a small children's themed play park on the Esplanade, ten-pin bowling and sailing lake.
