Barriemore Oban Oban, is a charming Victorian townhouse room only accommodations with a beautiful waterfront location on West Scotland’s rugged coastline. The elegant guest rooms have either views of Oban Bay, the sound of Mull and Lismore or woodland, all have free WiFi. Every room has a TV with a DVD player, a radio and a USB charging point. All rooms also feature a private bathroom, a hairdryer and toiletries from Scottish Fine Soaps. The Guest rooms are staircase accessible as there is no elevator at the property. The 4 star Barriemore operates a self check in system and provides room only accommodations. Guests can also relax in the conservatory lounge or the seafront terrace which have views over Oban Bay and the Island of Kerrera. Barriemore Oban was built by John S McCaig, the same man that built Oban's impressive landmark, the McCaig's Tower.

Company info

We are a family of 4, ourselves, Mark and Jan and our 2 children. Not forgetting the cat and two dogs. We moved back to Oban late 2011 to take over a part of a long running family business in bed and breakfast. We run Barriemore and live alongside in a house that originally belonged to my grandparents.

Property info

Barriemore is by the sea with fabulous views whilst having close proximity to the town and all it has to offer. Barriemore has long been a guest house or hotel, however prior to this it was a private residence and was originally built in 1895 by John S McCaig who also built the famous McCaigs Tower that looks down over the town of Oban and the sea and islands beyond.

Oban is a bustling tourist town in the season. There is a wealth of outdoor activities - walking, kayaking, horseriding, golf, adrenaline sports etc alongside many other attractions. Castles, SeaLife sanctuary, Leisure Centre, Oban whisky distillery, Oban chocolate factory, visiting the Islands, ancient glens and momuments. You will find the people friendly and the craic good.
