Our property, The Captains Quarters, Woolsery is a lovely studio apartment situated in a rural village setting, just two miles off the A39, midway between Bideford and Bude making it ideally situated for exploring both Devon and Cornwall. The apartment is fully fitted and includes all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The studio is adjacent to the main house with its own first floor private entrance (mobility issues should be considered as there is an outside set of stairs) and free parking is offered on the shared driveway (a car is necessary at this location due to its rural nature). We are unable to offer EV vehicle charging at this time.

As owners, we (Tim and Gabby) are looking forward to welcoming you. Tim is a retired Captain, having serving in the Merchant Navy for 45 years hence the name The Captains Quarters, Woolsery.

The Captains Quarters, Woolsery is located in a rural village, approx. 8 miles from Bideford Town Centre. It is just a couple of miles from the main route between Devon and Cornwall (A39) so there are plenty of opportunities to explore locally and further afield. A car is necessary due to the rural location of Woolsery as the bus 319 runs through the village just a few times a day. Bucks Mills, a small cove, is approximately four miles from the property with access to the South West Coast Path there or at Clovelly, approx 3 miles away. Welcombe, Sandymouth and Bude beaches lie in the Cornish direction and Instow, Westward Ho, Croyde and Saunton Sands in the Bideford/Barnstaple direction plus many others. There are National Trust properties to explore, gardens such as Rosemoor and The Eden Project, plus The South West Coast Path and many more things to see and do, all within reach. Family attractions such as the Milky Way and Big Sheep are close by. Lundy Island is a great day trip by boat. There are plenty of walks available locally too. The list of possibilities is endless!
