The property was amazing, so much space. There are plenty of bathrooms all exceptional. The pool & hot tub were great, as were the snooker table darts & table tennis. I have never cooked on an Aga before, but I loved it. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great few days at The Homemead. We all loved the pool, jacuzzi, outside space and range of activities available. The house itself, although old, is comfortable and modernised tastefully and effectively.

Located in Old Heacham, this Grade II listed spacious property was once the home of the Rolfe family. Who knows if Pocahontas could have stayed here? The property dates back to 1570 with more recent Georgian additions and has a 4-acre garden with a private heated swimming pool and hot tub, pétanque pitch (not a bowling alley!) and practice golf green. Croquet and badminton sets are also included for you to enjoy the garden. North beach at Hunstanton is just under a mile away with a lovely stroll over the fields. The spacious property boasts 7 large bedrooms, 5 with king size beds and 2 twins, and 6 bathrooms, one of them ensuite. There is a more formal lounge where you can relax or enjoy a game of table tennis. In the hallway there is a bar billiards table. Wi-Fi is available throughout the main house and a dedicated office space is next to the kitchen. There is a large formal dining room, plus a more relaxed dining area off the well-equipped kitchen. A cosy snug hosts a large TV and DVD player with numerous DVDs to choose from, plus books and board games. In addition, there is a large laundry room and 2 downstairs toilets. Across the private courtyard is the games room which boasts a 3/4 size snooker table, darts and ample seating. This also leads to the heated swimming pool and so contains a changing area and shower.
Guests will be checked in and out by Matt who will be available during your stay should you need to contact him. I, Claire, deal with the bookings and administration side of things so am to be contacted in that regard. There is also Chris who will be at the property twice a week to manage the garden, pool and hot tub.
There is so much to do in North Norfolk it is impossible to include it in the word allowance here. A guest manual that comes with the property that can give you some more ideas. To put it succinctly the beaches are stunning (some within a mile of the property), the pubs are cosy and welcoming (generally with amazing food) and there are loads of beautiful villages, such as Burnham Market or Thornham, and a host of stunning walks to enjoy. If this is not enough, there are lots of activities to do, should it be biking or high ropes at Holkham Hall, sliding down the slides at Bewilderwood, being scared by the dinosaurs at Roar! or feeding the birds at Pensthorpe - you and your family and friends will never be bored.
