If you’re looking to get away from the world for a short stay, and it’s just you on your own or you and your partner together, this is the place I’d whole heartedly recommend. Yes it’s got WiFi if you just can’t detach from the hive mind or need...

The property was beautiful and had everything I needed for my stay. The surroundings were stunning and provided a much needed peaceful backdrop to a stunning property. The owners were super helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Beautiful setting by the lake, the hut felt really private with a really comfy bed and lovely to be able to make a log fire and sit outside and also go in the boat around the lake!

Had a lovely stay, so peaceful and very connected to nature. Natasha was very welcoming and advised me on local dog walks, which were fab. Cuckfield is a very quaint village.

Great views over the lake. Hosts were lovely, very responsive and provided fire wood for burner. Nice location with good walks in the area. Hut nicely done. Great spot for glamping!

The Hyde is set in the 3 acre grounds of our Grade II listed farmhouse. Tucked away in your own little corner of the land, you have exclusive use of the lake and boat. You are not visable from our house but please note that the hut can be seen as you drive up the long driveway.
We are Pip and Tash - I am an actress and my husband has a catering company. After many years in London, we decided to plot our escape and create our own little slice of heaven, right here in the Sussex Downs. We designed and built the hut ourselves and have tried to think of every little detail to make your stay comfortable and special. We know you will love it as much as we do.
The Hyde is situated on Barnsnape Farm, on the outskirts of the village of Cuckfield, West Sussex. We are on the very edge of the South Downs in a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. There are beautiful walks a plenty from the door or a short drive away. Brighton is twenty minutes away if you want some action, or there are local country pubs a plenty if you are after something more sedate as well as plenty activities in the immediate area such as vine yard tours and wild sauna and swim. Or you can just light the fire at The Hyde, open something cold and watch the swallows swoop down to the lake at dusk or see if you can spot our resident heron. In the Winter, The Hyde is cosy and warm as it is sheeps wool insulated and you have the wood burner in there which gets roaring. No better place to crack open the scrabble and a bottle of red and while away the hours soaking up the view.
