This is such a gorgeous period property, but there’s nothing musty or outdated about the rooms and fixtures. We had the smallest room but it was more than enough, the bathroom was really nice and the space is really well used - we were able to stash our suitcases in a corner and enjoy the space. We stayed on Boxing Day evening and there was just one other room occupied - it was so quiet, the staff were lovely, the breakfast spread was phenomenal - we didn’t enquire about cooked breakfast but there were so many options we didn’t feel we’d gone without. It’s so convenient for being near my brother and I don’t doubt we’ll stay again. Next time hope to try the pub too, when family obligations aren’t pressing! Can’t recommend enough.

Cuckfield is a lovely place with cafe's and pubs and...

Cuckfield is a lovely place with cafe's and pubs and independent shops. Although close to Haywards Heath and some main roads it has stunning countryside walks right from its door. We didn't take our dogs as we were there for a family party but next time I would as the walking is really stunning (though muddy, very muddy in places, especially after the wet winter we have just had). I would definitely recommend it as a place for a long weekend.

Cuckfield is a lovely village with beautiful countryside around. Wheatsheaf Inn is a great place to stay. It's easy to go to Haywards Heath station from here and get connections to London Gatwick for a flight................Express takes only 10 minutes.

Cuckfield is a small village, which has retained its character and has plenty of interesting walks, whilst well placed to visit other places and a large number of well known gardens in close proximity, such as Borde Hill Gardens or Nymans.

Cuckfield can only be seen as a base as it is a one street...

Cuckfield can only be seen as a base as it is a one street village with a couple of nice shops and a couple of cafe/tearooms and not much else. If you want more interesting pursuits you need a car as there is no station (nearest Hayward Heath £10 taxi ride) and one bus available every 1 or 2 hours. Beware I do believe there are no ATM available

Didn’t see much of Cuckfield itself but it looked a pretty...

Didn’t see much of Cuckfield itself but it looked a pretty village and the Wheatsheaf was a great place to stay, eat and drink. The village is near to Bolney Wine Estate which offers excellent tours, tastings and a restaurant.

The cottage was delightful. The location was superb with a spacious garden and countryside views. It was very close to amenities and a short stroll to Cuckfield’s shops. The cottage was beautifully furnished and appointed. It was a very calming and relaxing stay in a very clean and comfortable cottage. The host was very responsive and helpful and our one query was answered personally within minutes. We were delighted with our choice and can recommend it without reservation.

Felt like a home from home, the staff's customer service was the best experience I've had in a long time, better than some 5* hotels I've stayed in. Basic accommodation, I stayed 2 nights, but comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. I would definitely return.

Had a lovely stay, so peaceful and very connected to nature. Natasha was very welcoming and advised me on local dog walks, which were fab. Cuckfield is a very quaint village.
