It's not just the inside of The Longbarn that is stunning - the exterior of the building and outdoor space is equally impressive. Stepping out from the door of the open plan living area past two bay trees, a large patio runs the length of building. With a border full of fragrant herbs, shrubs and flowers, the setting is calm and serene, with views directly out onto the surrounding fields of sheep. Take a seat on the curved wooden bench for an alfresco breakfast surrounded by morning birdsong, or spend an afternoon lounging on one of the comfortable sun loungers with a good book. There's a lawn for the children to play and further seating areas dotted around. To the side of the property, a covered Loggia or Garden Room area is a wonderful spot to enjoy social evenings dining outdoors. With a large outdoor dining set, further lounge seating and an an electric Pit Boss Grill barbeque, the outdoor festoon lights and fairy lights create a cosy and warm ambiance for social evenings outdoors. Although the location of this Grade 2 listed luxury barn near Ruthin is quiet and rural, it's only a mile or so to the centre of the market town itself. A relaxing walk to the town will reward you with a host of wonderful dining options, bars and lovely boutique shops. Visit Ruthin Craft Centre on the edge of town, or take a historical tour through Ruthin Gaol. Take a walk through the grounds of the 19th century Ruthin Castle, now a hotel, and maybe stop off for a quick drink before continuing to explore. North East Wales is a great area to explore for outdoor lovers. Families should head to nearby Loggerheads Country Park, with a number of woodland riverside walking trails along with shopping and dining facilities. For keen hikers, it's only a short drive toward Moel Famau - the tallest of the peaks along the Clwydian Range, and a popular hiking route offering 360 degree views across North East Wales.
