Ashbourne itself has everything you’d expect from a traditional market town including cobbled streets and numerous shops and restaurants. Within a 10 minute drive you’re in the Peak District with plenty of fantastic walks and sights to explore including the picturesque valley at Dovedale as well as Thor’s Cave in the Manifold Valley. If you’re a water sports enthusiast, make a trip to nearby Carsington Water where you can go sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, cycling and fly fishing. For thrill-seekers Alton Towers is also within a short drive making this the perfect base for an adventure filled escape.
