The Old Gallery is in the heart of the fishing village of Mousehole just seconds from the old harbour but located on a quiet street. Here you can enjoy a stylish experience in this refurbished Grade II listed cottage. The cottage oodles warmth and charm with its beamed ceilings, stuccoed walls and fireplace downstairs and the vaulted bedroom with king-sized bed and en-suite upstairs. Much thought has been put into its decoration, with natural furnishings by Rowen & Wren. This is definitely a space for thinkers and romancers seeking a get-away-from-it-all retreat as the space has been designed for people looking for an escape from the distractions of day-to-day life. It is somewhere to read, write, converse, create and catch up on sleep within the folds of luxury Hungarian Goose Down bedding. There are well-kept games in the tall boy including Art Deco Scrabble Edition, Trivia Quiz cards, Playing Cards, Cribbage etc. There is super fast WIFI too and a Smart TV for streaming via your account for BBC iPlayer, Prime etc, (but no terrestrial). All the furnishings are natural and each piece of furniture has been produced by artisan makers. We ask you to respect this by removing your shoes in the cottage and using coasters on all surfaces. Please note, like most traditional cottages, the ceiling height downstairs averages at 6ft 2', giving it a cosy feel, by contrast the upstairs is vaulted, light and airy.

Hi there, we are Skip and Andy and we love offering people a lovely space that they can rest and relax in. I’ve been a yoga teacher trainer for 25 years and I also run a cafe during the week in an iconic folly. I studied English as an undergraduate way back in the day at Goldsmiths and I also have a Masters in Creative Writing from West Dean College, so I have a passion for reading and writing literature. Andy, is a furniture design graduate from Ravensbourne (again back in the day!) and restores campaign furniture and partner desks as well as managing a speaker and amp repair company. We hope you have a lovely stay in our cottage, we have tried to think of everything that will make staying there enjoyable and accessible.

The Old Gallery is situated on a quiet no through street, seconds from the harbour and its sheltered sandy beach. Cars cannot drive up the street but Josh who owns the wonderful Mowzer Gallery opposite The Old Gallery will sometimes park on the street, as will the harbourmaster. We recommend dining at all the cafes and restaurants in Mousehole as they are all fantastic. For harbour views try 2 Fore Street Restaurant, Mousehole Restaurant and Deli, The Coastguards' Hotel and The Rock Pool Cafe. To be honest you are never far from the sea in Mousehole as most places hug the sea wall and look out to Mount's Bay, where in the distance you can see St Michael's Mount (a must see). There are also lovely country walks as you meander away from the harbour and through the narrow streets as well as the coast path. You are also just 20 minutes from the Minack open air cliff top theatre and the amazing Porthcurno beach. We do send you a comprehensive list of places to go to when you book.
