Tucked in an ancient courtyard where the first Norman house was built in the 12th century, these holiday apartments overlook York Minster. Located behind the Trembling Madness pub, both have free Wi-Fi throughout. The Old Gallery apartments have a 3D TV with Sky channels, and come with an iPod docking station. Each has a kitchen with an oven, hob, toaster and dishwasher. One apartment has a retro Atari 2600 games console, while the other has a PlayStation 3, and there are a range of books and films to enjoy. The picturesque, overhanging shops of The Shambles are just 10 minutes’ walk from The Old Gallery. The National Railway Museum is a 5-minute walk away, and the Jorvik Viking Center is also nearby.

I have been in York for 25 years and always had a business on Stonegate in the heart of the old town. The opportunity to purchase a medieval building behind my pub came up and I decided to turn it into 2 stunning holiday apartments. See you soon
York is one of England’s finest and most beautiful historic cities. The Romans knew it as Eboracum. To the Saxons it was Eoforwick. The Vikings – who came as invaders but stayed on in settlements – called it Jorvik. Its more recent history also characterises the city – its Minster and medieval architecture, its Georgian town houses, and its wonderful Victorian railway station. There's many museums and stately homes, so much to see and do
