A warm welcome awaits you at The Old Post Office; luxurious rooms, comfort and delicious food in a charming characterful bed & breakfast. Situated in rural Co Durham, only 7 miles from Durham city, Lanchester is a picturesque village with many local amenities and restaurants. An experience with unusual hosts with real food flair and backgrounds focused on making your stay pleasurable, knowledgeable and healthy. The Old Post Office has 3 lovely individually designed en-suite bedrooms. There are plenty of books, maps and local tourist information for you to browse through and Keith and Pauline are very happy to help you plan your day to make the most of your time in Co Durham. Throughout the house there are beautiful textiles, a mixture of antique and contemporary furnishings and original artworks.

The Old Post Office B&B is located in a small living and thriving country village of Lanchester, with a history that goes back to 140 AD with the ruins of a Roman fort called Longivicium, the derivation of Lanchester. With the River Browney running through the village that links with the River Wear, the site was ideal for a settlement for people. Lanchester lies in the Vale of Durham with easy access to many visitor attractions as well as having it's local restaurants and access to walking,
