Clovelly is a small timeless village as mentioned in the doomsday book, within the Torridge district of North Devon, England. It has an old harbour where the steep, cobbled street (pedestrianised ) tumbles down past the pretty cottages with wonderful views over the Bristol Channel. Also on view is Lundy Island a maritime and wildlife heaven, boasting rugged cliffs and a dramatic coastline The beautiful scenery can be enjoyed at several locations. The Hobby Drive in particular meanders through the woods and opens out with a beautiful vista overlooking Clovelly harbour. The Old Smithy B&B is situated in higher Clovelly, (about 1 mile from the village) with parking available on site. Within the local area there are several establishments to eat. Two restaurants/bars are situated in Clovelly village, please be aware this is all down hill to Clovelly Harbour. Whether you just want to find a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by or use The Old Smithy as a base to explore the many attractions (see below) and lovely walks on offer in North Devon & Cornwall we feel you will return home relaxed and refreshed.
