The location was perfect, on a quiet side street but still cloudy to the harbor

Everything was very clean, comfortable and felt like home. The room is simply gorgeous and quite large. The bed was comfortable too. We loved that it was also so central that we only had a short walk to anywhere in St.Ives.

It is very nicely styled (Cornish in all corners!) and comfortable. You like to be in the room. It is equiped with the things you need to eat a take away meal or to have breakfast. The owner is very nice.

Large, comfortable, lots of natural light and fresh air. Great location for our stay - bus and train stations within walking distance, easy to get to the sights we wanted to see!

We loved our stay at the Old Workshop, which was perfectly clean and very tastefully decorated with everything we needed. The host, Emma, was very accommodating and communicative and the location of the room could not be better!

The apartment is basically one street away from the main street in St Ives, and only a short walk to all beaches. Not sure you could get a better location! We stayed at Trenwith Car Park as the other one was full. This was about 10 minutes uphill...

Right in the heart of St Ives lies The Old Workshop, in a listed building that used to be a plumbing workshop. It has been in the same family for 5 generations and has been sustainably converted into two spacious en-suite rooms on separate floors, King Room downstairs and Deluxe King Room upstairs, showing old plumbing graffiti and the original beams (upstairs), granite walls & original sash windows, as well as a Juliet balcony in the Deluxe King Room. Here you have everything St Ives has to offer right on your doorstep. Cafés & restaurants around the corner plus the harbour & beaches only a stone's throw away. Please note that due to regulations for this listed building, there are no cooking facilities available with these rooms. However, there is a kettle and a small fridge in each room, as well as cups, glasses, plates and cutlery. There is also a table and two chairs in both rooms, plus a small sofa and coffee table in the larger Deluxe King Room.
I am originally from Sweden, but moved to St Ives when I met David, my late husband, in 2005. After working abroad for a while, and having two children, we ran an award-winning restaurant below The Old Workshop for 10 years. We then started converting what was David's dad's plumbing workshop into two rooms. Unfortunately David was diagnosed with a brain tumour in the middle of the conversion, and sadly passed away in August 2021. I have tried to finish the rooms in the same spirit as David started them, and managed to open them in April 2022. I hope you will enjoy your stay at The Old Workshop!
The Old Workshop is situated next to Trewyn Gardens, and just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of pedestrian Fore Street. Down the road is the harbour with all its cafés and restaurants, and all the beaches in St Ives can be reached by foot. Just below the rooms is a retro shop and there are some lovely little shops, cafés and a hairdresser surrounding the rooms. Please be aware that being in the town centre in a listed building with original single glaze windows, some noise from outside is to be expected.
