River Cottage at Old Post Office is just 2 miles from Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site in Northumberland. A First Class Holiday Cottage, River Cottage is a bright, quirky and completely self-contained self-catering space. Up to four people can stay in this cottage with private entrance. River Cottage was completely redesigned and refurbished in early 2021. We are pet friendly, you can stay from just two nights and we deep-clean obsessively between our guests visiting.
We’re a warm, friendly, quality-driven and adventurous family that have worked hard to build and lead a number of award winning businesses over 20 years. Turning self-contained parts of our home into memorable, genuinely interesting and indulgent spaces for our guests to escape to is now a big part of who we are as people. It is a passion. We understand that downtime is the most important time of anyone’s life. That's why, at Old Post Office Northumberland, we work so hard to make the downtime spent with us so very, very special. Arrival and Departure. River Cottage is ready from 3pm on your day of arrival. Early access may be available – please ask. Luggage drop-off is available from 10am on your day of arrival. Mychael and/or Lisa will greet you when you arrive. Or if you’ve arranged to do so, you can access your key from the key safe by your private entrance. You can speak to Mychael or Lisa whenever you like and wherever we are, by ringing the Old Post Office Main Building's front door ‘Video Bell’.
