This newly renovated accommodation was once 'The Snug' of The Gate Pub, a drinking establishment that could tell a tale or two. It is said that one of the world's 'greatest' drinkers, Oliver Reed, was barred from the pub when filming Women In Love on location at nearby New Street. Although part of the original pub, the accommodation is completely private to guests and no bookings are taken when the venue is being used for party hire. The stylish spaces are an absolute treat for two yet can easily accommodate up to six for a multiple night stay. The accommodation utilises an outbuilding for toilet, shower and bike store facilities. They are completely private to our 'Snug' guests within a small, enclosed courtyard (see photos) with undercover access, bath robes and slip on footwear provided. It is a great choice for families and if you are a larger group check out our Glamping Rooms next door. The

Self check in and a non contact stay but we live on site if you have any queries during your stay. Always happy to help when needed.

A quaint lively street with several independent businesses including 2 micro pubs, an artisan pizzeria, deli, hair salons and nail bar a short walk away. The Snug is situated on the ground floor of the property which stands on the corner of a road junction. Some road noise may be heard together with people noise as they walk between the surrounding businesses. Private on site parking is available, please let us know how many spaces are required. Also, please note we are halfway up a fairly steep hill from the town centre. Once serviced by a tram but unfortunately no longer. Although only a short 5/10minute walk buses and taxis are available.
