The welcome and warmth from the staff and owners on arrival. The photos of the property looked excellent, but honestly. The place was way above the photos. I would recommend it to anyone.

In 2022 the Stables conversion was lovingly completed. It is now an eco-home with a focus on sustainability. During the conversion special attention has been paid to recycling and reusing materials, limiting our impact on the environment. The underfloor heating is from a biomass source and the solar panels on the roof help to provide power in a move towards a more sustainable future. Our beautiful wooden window seats, made from a windblown tree which fell nearby, has a low environmental impact. The three en-suite bedrooms can be either double or twin for flexibility. The open plan kitchen living room is perfect for entertaining and the fire will keep you warm on a chilly night while the separate snug room is ideal for a film night. Each bedroom has it’s own terrace overlooking the family vegetable garden while the wood-burning hot tub makes for a lovely end to a busy day and budding chefs can hone their skills on the gas barbecue.
After working with young people for many years, your hosts Mark and Julie know how important it is to create a peaceful eco-friendly environment for future generations. Mark and Julie are delighted to welcome you to their peaceful haven following the restoration of the old stables in 2022. The Manse, their family home, is thought to be on the site of a medieval monastery and Mark and Julie have created a haven of tranquility in the gardens with wild flower meadows, abundant birdlife and a beautiful pond.
