The small and pretty village of Newton-le-Willows is situated just 3 miles from the market town of Bedale with its open air market (Tuesdays) and wealth of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is an abundance of hostelries within easy reach - many by a stream or mill pond where you can enjoy a pleasant meal or a drink. The village once came under the jurisdiction of Jervaulx Abbey, the ruins of which are only 10 minutes' drive away. Gardeners will enjoy the Thorp Perrow Arboretum and the gardens at Constable Burton - and don't miss the weird and wonderful "Forbidden Corner" near Middleham!
