Tudor Rose Cottage is a delightful, fairytale thatched cottage for two nestled within the beautiful village of Stourpaine, within an an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This chic and romantic pet friendly hideaway is the ultimate luxury getaway, furnished and equipped to a high standard.

Details correct at the time of writing. Wonderful and varied walks, in this area of outstanding natural beauty, begin at the door step of Tudor Rose Cottage. The quiet lane leads directly down to the fabulous North Dorset Trailway, just a 5 minute walk, which is largely made up of sections of the old Dorset & Somerset railway and extending up to 14 miles. It’s a safe and mostly flat surface making it ideal for running, walking and cycling. The Trailway offers some lovely views over the meandering river Stour, which is a haven for wildlife and the surrounding hills of the Blackmore Vale. The old railway station along the way at Shillingstone is a great stop off for a coffee and slice of cake or visit Fiddleford Manor and pop in for a drink at the Fiddleford Inn. The National Trust's Hambledon Hill, Dorset, is an Iron Age hill fort with far reaching views and spectacular wildflowers, just over 2 miles away from the cottage. Just 7 miles away, explore the nearby pretty market town of Sturminster Newton, in the heart of the Blackmore Vale, with its picturesque water mill on the River Stour. Once home to Thomas Hardy and Dorset dialect poet, William Barnes. Also close by is Shaftesbury, an interesting and historic town of Saxon origin, with attractions including Gold Hill, Abbey Museum and Gardens, and is just 7 miles away. Nearby Compton Abbas Airfield has views reaching for 30 miles and beyond, and it's the perfect place to have a flight experience, learn to fly or just enjoy a bite to eat amongst all the activity. The stunning National Trust owned Stourhead House, lake and gardens are only a 17 mile drive away, and well worth a visit. Longleat House and Safari Park can be reached by car within 45 minutes, and is perfect for a full day out. The city of Salisbury with its cathedral, museums, shops and restaurants is 26 miles away.
