Whatton Cottage is run by the Lothian Mineworkers Convalescent Home Trust. The Trust also runs Whatton Lodge, which is next door to the cottage. As well as operating Whatton Cottage for private lets, the trust offers Seasonal Breaks at Whatton Lodge for elderly and vulnerable people from former mining communities. Both Whatton Cottage and Whatton Lodge is managed and run by volunteers who serve as trustees and management committee members. All proceeds from private lets assist with the operating costs of both Whatton Lodge and Whatton Cottage.

Whatton Cottage is set on Hill Road in Gullane. The property looks directly over Gullane bay and the Firth of Forth and has some amazing views, along with glorious sunsets. The property is over two floors, with the main entrance leading to the ground floor. This floor consists of the living area, 2 bedrooms and one shower room/toilet. There is a lower floor where you will find the large fully equipped dining kitchen with a door leading to the garden. There are a further 3 bedrooms, two shower rooms and two toilets.

Gullane has a lovely village feel with beautiful shops, cafe's, pubs & restaurants. There are a number of golf courses in the village and surrounding areas. The beach is a fantastic facility for long walks, surfing or swimming. North Berwick is a neighbouring coastal town with local shops, cafe's and restaurants.
