Having run a holiday property business in the north west mountain region of Mallorca for 12 years, Sarah returned to the UK in the autumn of 2014 to embark on a new challenge that was Worth House! The house felt very run down and depressing, but she saw the potential of this beautiful period property and spent four months turning it into a homely B&B and family home. Always an ongoing project, of course, and 2020 saw the beautiful new pitched roof replacing the dated 1970s flat roof. With the new roof came a fabulous Loft room which is perfect for a family of four (and of course wonderful for a couple!) but also a calming space for a Yoga retreat as it can happily accommodate up to eight Yoga mats!

Located in the beautiful Somerset countryside, close to the medieval city of Wells, Worth House dates back 400 years and spans over 3 floors. Ideally located for exploring Somerset and visiting the local attractions including Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge. Relax in the former farmhouse with parts dating to the 16th Century. Views of the Mendip hills and farmland from all rooms; the house offers a perfect setting to escape from the stress of modern living. The Pheasant pub is less than a 10 minute walk and there are many country pubs within a few miles. Whether you want to explore the history of the local area, relax in the countryside or be more energetic climbing or caving, there is something for everyone. Guests can relax in the comfortable living room with views of the garden, and of course in the summer, enjoy the wonderful garden. Start your day with a hearty breakfast, using locally sourced products. We cater for special dietary requirements. Please advise when making your reservation. Breakfast will vary according to the time of year. A full English will always be available with the addition of toasted bagels with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs in the warmer months and Sarah's cinnamon porridge in the winter. Upon your arrival we will request your preferences so we can get it just right for you. If you are travelling in a group and would like a special dinner together, this can be organised. We can also provide a packed lunch if you are going out on a day trip. Please advise on booking with your requests. Any damages, losses or expenditure incurred will be paid for using the card details provided at time of booking. A 15 GBP one night booking surcharge is in place for reservations made on a Friday and Saturday during certain periods. We have a 2 night minimum stay policy between 1/6 - 31/8. Please call to discuss any booking requirements outside of this policy.

We are located in a quiet area, surrounded by farmland, and just two miles from Wells. There is an excellent pub within 5 mins walking distance and 2 more in Wookey! We have a vineyard at the top of the lane that produces amazing wine and great local cider. At the back of the house just over the ridge you drop down on to the Somerset levels. Great to explore on bikes and foot. We have two hybrid bikes available for guest use.
