There are no TVs or distractions inside our yurts – instead, you’ll find comfortable beds, a cosy log burner, solar lighting and everything you need for a simple, memorable stay in the great outdoors. Each yurt has its own wood-fired cooking setup, with cast-iron cookware provided so you can embrace outdoor cooking the way it was meant to be. Gather around the fire, cook a meal, sit beneath the trees and enjoy the simple pleasure of eating outdoors. You’re free to roam our 25 acres, explore the woodland, discover quiet corners and let the kids run free. As evening arrives, light the fire, look up through the yurt’s viewing dome and watch the stars appear overhead. It’s camping – but with a proper bed, a warm log burner and a little more comfort. Our yurts are equipped with comfortable beds, bedding, cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, tables and chairs, solar lighting and log burners. Each yurt also has access to its own outdoor fire pit, making campfires a big part of the Yurtcamp experience. Our centrally located shower and toilet facilities provide plenty of hot showers, toilets, mirrors and hairdryers, with separate male, female and accessible facilities. There is also a second toilet block, washing-up facilities and laundry areas. Yurtcamp is ideal for families, couples, friends and anyone looking for a genuine escape into nature. We’re a young family with four girls under eight, so life is never boring! We’ve always loved being outdoors, getting muddy, exploring the woods and enjoying the simple things that are so easy to miss in everyday life. When we discovered Yurtcamp, we knew we wanted to create somewhere that other families, couples and friends could experience that same feeling of freedom and adventure. For us, Yurtcamp is all about getting back to nature – cooking over a fire, exploring the woodland, sitting around the campfire as the sun goes down and waking up surrounded by trees. We’re a hands-on family and are continually improving Yurtcamp, while trying to keep the things that make it special: the space, the freedom, the fires and the feeling of being properly away from it all. Explore South Devon Yurtcamp sits in a beautiful corner of South Devon, tucked away in 25 acres of woodland but perfectly placed for exploring everything this incredible part of the country has to offer. With Dartmoor National Park right on our doorstep, adventure is never far away. Spend the day walking across the moors, climbing the famous granite tors, spotting Dartmoor ponies, exploring ancient landscapes or simply finding a quiet spot to enjoy the views. Haytor, Hound Tor and the villages of Bovey Tracey and Widecombe are all within easy reach. Fancy a day at the beach? You're in luck. The beautiful South Devon coastline is only around 25 minutes away, with Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torquay and the beaches of the South Hams all within easy reach. From traditional seaside days and rock pooling with the kids to coastal walks, swimming and exploring hidden coves, there’s plenty to discover. There’s loads for families too, including Becky Falls, Pennywell Farm, Paignton Zoo and the River Dart Country Park, while those looking for a little more adventure can try mountain biking, pony trekking, rock climbing, wild swimming and high-wire activities across Dartmoor. For a change of pace, historic Ashburton and Bovey Tracey are close by, with independent shops, cafés, local food and plenty of Devon character. And when you fancy a day in the city, Exeter is around 20 minutes away, with its cathedral, historic streets, museums, galleries, shops and beautiful riverside walks. You can spend the day exploring Dartmoor, the coast or the many attractions of South Devon, then return to your yurt, light the fire, cook dinner outdoors and disappear back into the woods.
