A past made present Like so much of art, history and life, Arta began not with a plan, but as an impulse… an infatuation with the timeless charm of Hydra and the island’s role as a crossroads where the global jet set mingled with a legendary community of artists, writers, poets and revolutionaries. Amid quirky angles and traditional white washed arches, our self-catering house offers three independent rooms arranged around a tiny walled and gated courtyard. With vintage floor tiles, ancient wood doors, artisanal bath amenities and a collection of original art, even the smallest details are designed to surround and seduce you with the unique spirit of Hydra life to become an unforgettable part of your Arta stay. Arta offers three lovingly appointed non-smoking guest rooms with private baths and 100% natural Coco-Mat mattresses. They may be rented individually or the house can be taken in its entirety by a family or friends with a sleeping capacity of seven adults. Please keep in mind that Arta is entirely self-catering and not a hotel. Although we do not have staff on site, we have tried to anticipate your every need to ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible. In our attempt to support a greater degree of slower, more engaged eco-conscious travel, we request a minimum booking of three nights. The Writer / 14m2 Cosy yet complete it is Ideal for 1-2 people with its beamed ceiling, white plaster walls, the remains of an ancient hearth and plentiful nooks containing artifacts and books for a feeling of a tiny writer’s retreat. The Artist / 19m2 This charming mid-sized room is one of pure visual inspiration. Ideal for 2, it offers a small additional sitting and dressing area for reading, relaxation and simply chilling. The Muse / 28m2 Engaging and seductive, this is a place to be inspired. With soaring ceilings and walls covered in original art it comprises an entry, living room with single sofa bed, dining area, equipped kitchenette, bath and bedroom.

As the owners of the house, we are here to assist you in anyway we can. Although we may not cross paths, Arta has a professional House Manager that will meet you at the ferry or another point in town, lead you to the house and answer any questions you might have. Arta is located in a quiet residential lane a mere 300 paces from the Harbor with no significant steps to climb. It is within easy walking distance of all of the town’s restaurants, cafes, shops, churches and museums. Hydra is a beautiful and cultural island with much to be explored and discovered!
