The ground floor areas of the villa, including the guest house and yard are easily accessible to people with reduced mobility. The 200 years-old stone house was passed from generation to generation of working sponge divers and fishermen. The pride of its owners is reflected in the austere architectural volumes and their sculptural beauty - typical of Hydra island – both humbly preserved in the recent renovation. All furniture, sinks and even wall lights are hand-made by Greek craftsmen. The open plan, de-cluttered layout allows for maximum natural light and ventilation. There are no internal doors or partitions, but full-length white curtains balance privacy with a heightened sense of space and light. The private yard is perfect for warm gatherings of friends, families and special guests, under the stars or under the morning shade.

In the villa, the private yard and our two lounges provide space to share time with your closest friends and loved ones. We have taken special care to adorn the villa with original Greek art and custom-made objects by Greek craftsmen. Ecology has been at the forefront of our thoughts and, trust in the thoughts of most of our guests. The villa is equipped with the latest energy-efficient appliances and water-saving technology. Our traditional cistern has been restored to provide water to all outdoor areas and an alternative water supply to the villa. The balance between modernity and tradition is hard to strike, we may not have achieved it, but proud we keep trying.

Expect to live like a local in this quiet, charming residential neighborhood in Hydra town, in touch with the daily natural rhythms of this very special island and its people. It is an easy five minutes’ walk along charming cobbled paths to the sea, and all amenities, shops, eating, arts and entertainment options available at Hydra port. There are no steps to climb to or from the villa. Nearest swimming point is Spilia, a further five minute stroll along the sea. Beach boats (for far away beaches), and water taxis (for anywhere) are straight ahead when you reach the sea. Continue on the paths either side of the picture-perfect port for stunning sea-side walks and jogs, longer for scenic and rewarding hikes to untouched parts of the island. Walk uphill and lose yourself in the cobbled paths. Each turn will charm and uplift you, the higher up you go, the higher your rewards. But be prepared (water and hat), and stay alert to donkey traffic! The nearest supermarket is within a minute's walk, as is the main town square with eating and cafe options.
