Machi’s House is located in the center of Plaka, the traditional capital of Milos. The property is housed in a historic mansion that has been reconstructed into four independent guest units, each with a different layout while maintaining the character of the original building. The property has historical significance, as one of the rooms is known as the place where the statue of Venus de Milo was temporarily hidden before leaving the island. The complex includes four units: Venus Room, Trapezaria, Penthouse and Sala. Each unit offers a different configuration suitable for couples, solo travelers or small groups. Venus Room is the smallest unit (18 sq.m.) and features a small double bed, private bathroom and a small courtyard with garden view. Due to its size it is ideal for one guest, although it can accommodate two. Trapezaria is a ground floor one-bedroom apartment with two separate areas. The bedroom includes a double bed and a loft with a smaller double mattress, while the kitchen area includes two single beds. The apartment features a small kitchen suitable for light cooking, washing machine and a courtyard with garden view. Retire is located on the upper floor and includes a separate bedroom with double bed, a kitchen suitable for light cooking, washing machine and a private balcony with village view. Access is via a narrow wooden staircase. Sala is a one-bedroom apartment accessed via a few stone steps. It features a separate bedroom with double bed, two WC areas and a separate shower space, as well as a courtyard with view of the traditional village alleys. Machi’s House is within walking distance of restaurants, cafés, bars and local shops in the center of Plaka, making it a convenient base for exploring the island.

Other Important Information Private parking is available for all units except the Venus Room. No housekeeping or linen change is provided during the stay. If you require fresh towels, please inform us at least one day in advance. Tap water is not drinkable. Hot water is provided through an electric water heater located in the electrical panel. Guests are advised to switch it on approximately 10 minutes before showering and turn it off afterwards. Due to the traditional structure of the building, some units are accessed via stairs.
