Zadar's past goes back 3,000 years and with the arrival of the Romans, Zadar became a regional center. The remains of the former Roman Forum are today an unavoidable promenade and one of the symbols of the city, next to the church of St. Donut. One of the most recognizable symbols of Zadar are the Monument to the Sun and the Sea Organ. Monument to the Sun is a modern installation composed of 300 glass panels that collect solar energy. In addition to Monument to the Sun, there is also the Sea Organ, which has 35 pipes in which the sound is created under the influence of the sea energy, waves and tides.
