I would like to offer my guests the experience of staying in a tropical home with modern amenities and professional attentive staff, while keeping its nature as a private villa. I designed the house myself out of my love of the traditional tropical architecture. The house has a lot of open communal space, made possible by the friendly tropical climate. The communal areas are equipped with modern amenities for guests to enjoy time together. These include a jaccuzi for up to 6 people, a large swimming pool, a cinema screen and a reading corner. The book collections include biographies of great leaders in the Southeast Asian region and novels many of which I bought during my overseas assignments. . Our staff live in a building annexed to the private villa. They are ready to assist you to make an enjoyable stay while at Ambary House.
I spent many years working as a journalist covering mostly economics and the financial markets. Covering Indonesia's bond market from its birth to being one of the most active in the region was one of my favorite subjects. I love travelling, reading books and meeting people. About three years ago, I took the plunge as a hotelier and built Ambary House.
I like the area where the villa is located. It is a quiet neighborhood yet in the central area. It is lined up with small accommodations ranging from budget ones to expensive private villas. It is only about 5 minutes walking distance to the main strip where many of the island's best restaurants and bars are located.
