Location and the pool and the staff

We stayed 4 nights at Captain Coconuts Gili Air and absolutely loved it! Only a 3-minute walk to the beach and surrounded by some of the best restaurants on the island. The hotel pool is perfect for relaxing, set in a lovely area full of palm trees. The staff were super polite and helpful. Our room was way bigger than expected, and the whole place had a really chilled, relaxed vibe. The kids had a blast playing with the local cats too! We’ll definitely be coming back next time. 🌴☀️🐾

Excellent diving centre, great location, good restaurant and friendly atmosphere

Our favourite favourite place to stay on Gili Air! The breakfast (omg - waffles!!!) the location, the comfy beds, how quiet it is (especially considering it’s a hostel!! It’s still one of the quietest places I’ve stayed on the island.) Our favourite places to eat are right next door, the paddle boards to rent - just a fabulous time for the whole family!! Lexy and the staff take such good care of us and always make us feel like we’re returning to our home away from home.

Staff, location, value, layout

The location is absolutely spectacular! It perfectly captures the island vibe and tropical feel you’d want for an unforgettable island getaway. My family had such a delightful experience. The staff are truly lovely and attentive —special thanks to Juli and the team for their outstanding hospitality!

From the moment we arrived at Hani Hideaway, we felt something special. We spent six unforgettable nights there with our family of four, including two teenage boys, and it quickly became clear that this place is far more than a resort — it feels like a home. We stayed in two rooms, both absolutely beautiful, perfectly equipped, and spotless. Every detail showed care and thought, creating a sense of calm and comfort that allowed us to truly relax. What made this experience extraordinary was the people. The staff went far beyond anything we could have imagined. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine attention made us feel deeply welcomed — not as guests, but as part of a family. This level of sincere hospitality is rare and incredibly moving. The food was another highlight that touched our hearts. Breakfasts felt like a daily celebration, and the dinners were nothing short of sublime — easily among the best meals we had during our entire journey through Indonesia. The chef and kitchen team create dishes with passion, skill, and soul, and you can taste it in every bite. Leaving Hani Hideaway was emotional. This has been the most beautiful and meaningful travel experience we have ever had, and we already know we will return. A place like this stays with you long after you leave.

Cozy, comfortable & clean

Everything! The spacious room and the bathroom!

We really enjoyed our stay in this small-scale and calm place. The staff is very friendly, laid back, helpfull but also let you do your own thing. We booked a private snorkling tour via the hotel which was perfect for us with young children. The captain was keeping an eye on them while we could go snorkling with a guide. The swimmingpool is great. We loved to come back in the afternoon after our activities and just relax there. The airco conditioning of the cottage is also very good. You might even feel cold during the night. At first sight I was in a doubt to book this accomodation because it is not at the beach. But the location turned out to be just perfect, away from the busy beach and in the middle of the island; all highlights and restaurents (but also the beach) are nearby. Also nice to rent a bike via this hotel. Warung Sunny is very close which is really amazing for local food. The Nasi Goreng of the hotel was the best we had during our stay in Indonesia!

What a gem! The rooms were very spacious as were the bathrooms. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The breakfasts were very generous. And the beach area offered many options between tables and chairs and sun beds. The staff was incredibly friendly.

For the price, this place made for a lovely stay. Sweet, individual lodgings, a bit tired round the edges but functional and clean. Set in a beautiful rustic tropical garden. Lovely staff who looked after us, sorted out snorkeling and even made us ginger tea for when we were feeling unwell!

I was so impressed with the staff and the accommodations. Plus the beautiful garden. They made me feel like family.

Gem of place in Gili Air, there are only two suites in the property and so you get a very private, personalized stay at Mandana. This was exactly what we wanted. Also, the property is in the dead center of the island so it was a 7-8 minute walk to either corners of the island and a 5 min walk to the beach in any direction. This helped us to explore the island throughout and also have a luxurious room to stay in. The staff and the service was really welcoming and extremely helpful! A bonus was that the wifi at the property is really good which was surprising as has read that in several places the internet connectivity is bad in the island, but not at Mandana for sure.

Everything was perfect, felt new and fresh. I loved my room and the ac got super cold which was amazing. I loved the hot shower and the nice hair conditioner that was provided. I really appreciated the fluffy fresh towels and how comfortable the bed and pillows were. I worked on my laptop from the kitchen lounge area at the front with no problems. The pool was nice and the beanbag chairs fun. I liked the ample space to unpack my clothes in the cupboards and how you actually provided a solid amount of hangers, which is rare to find. I appreciate the staff for being so available and also for the fresh coconut and coffee. They told me where to go rent my bike and arranged the snorkeling day for me with private boat drivers. I honestly could have stayed there for a month, and wish I did!

I liked everything about this property! Beautiful, clean, quiet and the best staff.
