At Utopia and now Utopia 2, you’ll enjoy the perfect balance of nature and comfort. Tucked among swaying coconut palms, please note our retreats are now over two properties. At Utopia we have three distinctive bungalows— Kecil, Sedana and Besar. These bungalows are each equipped with a king size bed (with beautiful linen + mosquito nets), a private bathroom (with eco-friendly toiletries), hot water, fans, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, terrace, and own gardens. For a touch of community, there’s a simple welcoming outdoor kitchen where you can prepare breakfast or cups of tea at your own pace or unwind in the evening with a cool drink. Utopia 2 is just up the road! This property is located north of Utopia – a short 200 metre walk, surrounded by its own beautiful garden and rest area, here we have two bungalows Kelapa (coconut) and Kerang (coral). Both are simple, tidy bungalows with king sized beds, (with beautiful linen + mosquito nets), a private bathroom (with eco-friendly toiletries), hot water, fans, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and terrace. Here you’ll also find a simple kitchen – complimentary tea, coffee and filtered water, plus access to facilities to cook if you so wish. Our amazing and friendly staff are available to assist you throughout your stay, organising bike rental, laundry service or activities. Our properties are both located on the eastern side, in the Old Village of Gili Air, just a short stroll from the island’s main road with its souvenir shops, local restaurants, and supermarkets. The beach is only about a 2 min bike ride away, making it easy to slip into the sea for a swim or soak up the sun! The harbor is just a short ten-minute stroll from your door, and the neighbourhood is as warm as it is quiet—smiling locals will greet you cheerfully in Bahasa as you pass by. We are gradually making improvements at both properties and gardens – so please let us know if there is something you would like us to add to make your stay even more memorable

We are a Tasmanian couple who fell in love with Gili Air, and serendipitously jumped at the chance to run Utopia from September 2025. With our hospitality background as a chef (Courtney) and sommelier (Joseph) we hope to use our experience to ensure all of our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday here in our tropical paradise

Gili AIr is a tiny island, but Utopia happens to be in one of the quietest areas of the Island, with little activity in the evenings and allowing for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Our garden, established for over 30 years, offers our guests an quiet and calm oasis, and we are mere metres from the Eastern side beach, where we find the best swimming to be
