Neighborhood info

Aclare is a small village in County Sligo in the parish of Kilmactigue. The village, as well as the surrounding townlands, have a strong musical tradition and are famous for their musicians and singers, particularly in Irish traditional music. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes nearby including the Lough Talt and Lough Easkey Loop walk. Fisherman can enjoy fishing on both the nearby River Inagh and River Moy, famous for its salmon fishing. The beautiful town of Tobercurry is a short drive away nestled at the foot of the Ox Mountains, and is home to numerous shops, pubs and its famous annual Drama Festival. Mayo’s largest town, Ballina, is just a short drive from Tobercurry, and lies just over the border in County Mayo. It is home to the ecclesiastical ruins of the impressive Moyne Abbey, as well as a 4000 year old Dolmen, a single-chamber megalithic tomb. The county town of Sligo is a little further in the other direction and offers an interesting day out with historic monuments and pretty buildings to enjoy. With exceptional walking and fishing available, and lots of places to visit within easy touring distance, Aclare is a great location all year round.
