Cleggan Connemara Cleggan, to the north of the Aughrus peninsula is a picturesque fishing village. A focal point of the village is the busy village harbour. Ferries leave the pier daily for Inishbofin Island. Cleggan Riding Centre offers scenic pony trekking across Cleggan Beach and to tidal island of Omey at low tide. Cleggan has four bars (Olivers, Joyces, Newmans, and The Pier Bar), one grocer, and a post office. It also boasts a childrens playground, community hall, and lots of car parking spaces.
