Welcome to Granny Dens, A traditional country style home, where a warm turf fire will welcome our guests along with home baking treats on arrival. This old 1900`s cottage has been renovated over the years and now boasts a warm homely feel for guest to enjoy time to relax in the tranquil surroundings - the property has its own private on-site parking together with a large garden area. The property has a solid fuel stove with traditional country style theme, one of the bedrooms has its own en-suite facility and the second bedroom has a double bed and bunk beds, a cot can be provided on request along with babysitting service. The Kitchen has all the requirements for family living. The property has oil central heating which can be timed to suit your needs. We hope you enjopy your stay at Granny Dens......
Caroline lives next door to the property and will always be available to help or assist in any way, Caroline looks after the property along with her young daughter, they both do all the home baking for the guests - Breakfasts can be arranged if required and extra home baking or food hampers at a small extra charge can be provided.
The local area of Narin / Portnoo is a beautiful destination on the Wild Atlantic Way, this area has an abundance of sandy beaches to choose from, where long walks are a must. A scenic 18 hole links Golf course is located within 1km of the property. The area is also home to the Dolman Stone, A Megalithic monument within walking distance from the property. The adjoining village of Ardara, a short distance away, is the home of weaving and crafts in Donegal, and also has lots of bar`s and restaurants to choose from. The Assarancha Waterfall is a must visit……even on a wet day, with a visit to the Maghera Caves. Just to the rear of the property is a small family farm, with pet Donkeys, Daisy & Jack, a mother & son, Blossom & Buster – these animals can be petted and fed with supervision. The adjoining fields have cows, calves, sheep and Horses. There is a beautiful lake within walking distance from the property and guests are permitted to walk the farm lands to avail of its beauty.
