This is a clean, comfortable, compact flat ideal for short stays and stopovers. It is well equipped, best suited to guests looking for a practical, private, calm base rather than a luxury experience. This flat is set up for two guests sharing the double bed only. Our home is set in nature on the banks of the River Shannon, with peaceful views of the water and countryside wildlife all around. You can easily walk to the village shops and pub while still enjoying nature in rural Leitrim. We aim to keep everything simple and comfortable so you can feel at ease - whether you’re passing through for a night or staying longer to explore the area. I am happy to recommend local walks, riverside stops, or cosy places to eat nearby. The property is accessed via a shared entrance with our neighbours, so please drive slowly and with care when arriving. You’ll find your designated parking space beside the orange door, which is the private entrance to your flat. Our own car and van are parked nearby, we kindly ask guests to park on the gravel, leaving the entrance clear, to keep everything running smoothly. Guests are asked to take care when outdoors, particularly with children. Please SUPERVISE AT ALL TIMES near the water.

We’re just starting out - so the space is modestly furnished, but fully functional and homely.

Roosky or Rooskey is situated where the three counties meet, Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon, the 'midlands' of Ireland. Our location is 2km off the N4 motorway and it is a 3 minute drive from Dromod train station on the Sligo Dublin rail line. This 'granny flat' is at the end of our bungalow home on the outskirts of the Village. Our house rules - most guests already do these things naturally - we just write them down to keep everything clear and comfortable for everyone. - No smoking indoors. - No parties or events. - ONLY registered guests allowed overnight. - Always lock the door when leaving. - Respect any PRIVATE / host-only, neighbour's areas. - Report any damage or issues promptly. - Quiet hours after 9pm – 8am. - Be considerate of neighbours and wildlife. - No outdoor fires / BBQs. - Please don’t feed local wildlife. - Park only in the designated space.
