Nestled in the heart of the sunny southeast of Ireland, we are located less than one kilometer outside the vibrant village of Kilmuckridge, County Wexford. Set on 1.5 acres of peaceful countryside, our large country house provides a luxurious escape surrounded by the soothing sounds of a stream and the charm of rural life. We take pride in offering an adults-only experience of high-end accommodation, perfect for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway in a country setting close to beaches. Our grounds are also home to cats, ducks and chickens, adding to the peaceful and authentic charm of country living.

My name is Sheila and I’m a writer with a deep love for Irish history, the wild beauty of the landscape, and the story of the Irish diaspora. I’m inspired by quiet, natural places, good food, and coastal walks. I live here with my husband and college-going children, and enjoy welcoming guests to relax and feel at home in their own space.

Kilmuckridge is a traditional Irish village that comes alive in the summer with a bustling community of locals and visitors alike. In the village, you’ll find 2 supermarkets, 2 welcoming Irish pubs, a café and takeaway coffee spot, a number of fast food take away shops, a hardware store, a petrol station, a hotel, a post office and a Protestant and Catholic church. We are located in a peaceful countryside location less than 1 km from the village. ​The south east of Ireland is renowned for it's golden sandy beaches and some of these beautiful nearby beaches are: Morriscastle Blue Flag Beach - 5km, Tinnaberna Beach  - 5km, Ballynamona Beach - 5km, Ballyvaldon Beach - 7km, Knocknasillogue Beach - 8km, Cahore Beach - 11km, Donaghmore Bay Beach - 13km, Courtown Beach - 19km, Curracloe Beach - 18km. Also, we are close to the follow town centres that are steeped in medieval history including Gorey Town - 23km, Enniscorthy Town - 26km and Wexford Town - 27km ​ Some other villages of note that are nearby are Courtown - 18km, Curracloe - 16km and Ferns - 20km. ​There are many walkers, hikers & cyclists that pass through our village and our location is a great rest stop between towns and villages! For the golf enthusiasts, The Cracked Hen is close to the following courses Blackwater Golf Course, Courtown Golf Course, Wexford Golf Course, Enniscorthy Golf Course, Ballymoney Golf Course and Ravenport Resort Hotel and Golf Course (due to be opened in 2026!)
