Tilly's cottage is located in a peaceful area just 2km outside of Durrus village it take about 5minutes to drive or half hour stroll to get to from Durrus,with beautiful views of Dunmanus bay and the Sheeps head peninsula, its an ideal home for families or walking groups as the Sheeps head way is on the doorstep. Durrus village is nearby with a lovely playground for children and local pubs which do food like Longboat bar and O’Sullivians bar also nearby is Blairsecove restaurant a real treat. The house is in a quiet tranquil area with lovely views.
My name is frances and I inherited this house from my late mother, so I decided I would summer let it as I love being there myself as it is such a peaceful place with lovely views of Dunmanus bay, I have welcomed so many friendly and interesting people in the last 4 years and I hope to keep doing this and making anyone that rents this house feel welcome and make sure they enjoy every minute.
There is a lot to see in the area, the Mizen head lighthouse and coffee shop is only a 30minutes drive and along that drive are sandy beaches for swimming or making lovely sand castles. We have lovely restaurants such as Blairscove only a 10 minute drive away from the holiday home which utilise local produce.. Schull is only 8miles away and is a lovely coastal village and has the best country market every Sunday morning in the summer also Bantry is about same distance and has a market every Friday summer and winter with everything you could ask for. In Skibbereen you can visit the famine centre and if you go to Clonakilty you can visit the model railway village a real treat for young and old.. there is so much to see and do in this area you won’t be disappointed.
