We weren't expecting breakfast included, but it was included and very good. The staff were all very polite and attentive, especially the lady who served us at breakfast and checkout. I had made a request through chat and was informed that they would do their best to accommodate my request. On the day of checking, the same lady called me to let me know that they would be able to accommodate my request and was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. There was nothing we didn't like.

Spectacular grounds and landscaping! Many old trees giving a cooling effect. Very good breakfasts. Loved the honeycomb. Had dinner one night, good but a bit pricey for two courses. Lunch in the bar was delicious and better value. I was here for a wedding and it all went so well and beautifully done….so much food at the dinner! A beautiful clean property and very nice staff.

My first stay in Eccles and would definitely return. Did not get to spend much time in the hotel itself but when we were there we were very happy. Staff were very friendly, Bar food was gorgeous and great value. Only a short walk to the town. If a view is important to you ensure to pay the extra and book a Sea View room. Would return and recommend.

Very nice city with some lovely café and restaurants (...

Very nice city with some lovely café and restaurants (especially if you're a fan of fish!) but public transport is absolutely abysmal. Oddly un-walkable by comparison to Dublin with very little greenery and shade making it very uncomfortable on hot days. There were many spots we wanted to go but were inaccessible due to distance/lack of transport etc. Definitely would recommend a car or bikes to get around. Commuter trains for spots like Fota or Cobh outside the city are adequate but wouldn't make it a habit of raw-dogging the city by itself! For queer travellers like myself, I noticed a few more glares and weird looks (mostly from elderly people) but it overall felt safe.

Bantry is a wonderful location along west Cork.

Bantry is a wonderful location along west Cork. Busy town with lots of shops restaurants and market days. Traffic can be a bit slow getting through especially with the volumes in summer. Bantry House is a spectacular visit and the house and gardens will not disappoint. Take 3/4 hours to really enjoy your visit and learn its history. For the keen photographers and especially gardeners it will inspire you with views across the bay.

Blarney grounds were amazing for nature/ garden lovers.

Blarney grounds were amazing for nature/ garden lovers. If you are into horticulture, leave extra time to explore. The castle was a very long wait to get into (over 2 hours) on a Monday but with unseasonably warm, sunny weather. We had a lot of interior castles already, so elected not to wait in the heat.

Castletownbere is a hidden gem on the Beara Peninsula, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and the sea. We loved exploring the area and watching the sunset by the coast—it was the perfect place to take some truly stunning photos. Ballydonegan Beach is well worth a visit, and the scenery throughout the area is simply spectacular. Being on the Ring of Beara route makes it an excellent base for exploring one of Ireland's most beautiful landscapes. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, coastal views, and peaceful surroundings.
