Let us welcome you to our home. Himalayan Orchard Hut: The scattered village of Kut-Chadiara in the Panj-La Valley lies perched mid-way up a terraced slope at 1325m above sea level. Surrounded by fruit trees, vegetable fields and forest, Himalayan Orchard Hut offers a bird’s eye view of the mighty River Saal in the valley below and is a 20-30 minute gradual walk up hill from the bus stop at Massar Village, 7 km from Chamba town. Himalayan Orchard Hut is the home of an environmentalist extended family who offer home cooked food and comfortable accommodation with ensuite to those wishing to experience true village life. The house is made of clay and wood in traditional fashion and offers neat, clean and basic rooms with verandas overlooking the hills and valley. There are either single or double/twin rooms with ensuit bathrooms with hot/cold showers and flush toilets. For the nautre lovers alternatively tents on the hill terraces can be arranged with access to a common bathroom with hot/cold showers and flush toilets. The delicious food made fresh each meal includes rare traditional dishes famous from the time of the King’s rule in Chamba District.

The Dhami family is a small Himalayan family that has lived in this part of India all their life. Mr Prakesh Dhami had many ventures in life but one that was close to his heart was his family and where he lives. With the beautiful Himalayan mountains all around his home town, Chamba, he set out to build a home away from the hustle and bustle of the town to raise his family in a more peaceful way. He moved his family home on the side of a mountain and that's when he created Orchard Hut. A home away from home for any traveller that wants to experience the Himalayan village life. He started off small with just a 1 room house then created a multi room home that could enable him to open his home up to families from all over the world. And that is where it began.... A home on the side of a mountain. Not only did he pioneer tourism in Chamba but he also established a well known adventure company Mani Mahesh Travels. Here you can book just about anything in India with special interests or trekking some beautiful mountain ranges of Western Himalayas of India. Also he built with his own power, a beautiful trekking hut know to most as the Ridgemoor Cottage.

Chamba - Explore this historical town with a visit to the 10 Century Temples and wonder the streets and the many shops and markets. Try some of the local treats. In the afternoon before sunset transfer back to the trail up to Orchard Huts. Car and driver are at your disposal for the full day while in Chamba. Private AC/Heated vehicles with personal professional licensed driver will pick you up from Orchard Hut and transfer you to Kahjjar. Explore on your own this lovely village known as the Mini Swizarland of India. Have lunch (at your own cost) in one of the charming restaurants. Car and driver are at your disposal for the full day while in Kahjjar. After a good breakfast tie up your hiking shoes and start the guided trek to a beautiful meadow with spectacular views. Enjoy a picnic lunch and a rest to continue on back to Orchard Hut for a well deserved rest and a good hot dinner. Try your hand a milking our cow. Or have fun feeding the goats. Why not gather your own free range eggs for breakfast from our hens! If relaxing is what you want we have the perfect hammock to lay on and read that book you had no time for, or lay in the sun and soak in the vitamin B.
