PaliGhar, is a scenic countryside farm-stay, situated at Echhey, Kalimpong. We aim to promote Kalimpong as a destination for the discerning traveler. It was built on traditional building techniques and aspired to promote and safe guard Nepali & local customs, heritage, traditions & cuisine. During your stay you can get to participate in farming activities, undertake walking tours, village walks, explore Kalimpong in a sightseeing tour & much more. The stay is ideal for 4 people in two rooms.

I'm an avid traveller with over 12 years of experience in the upmarket travel industry. After quitting my job in New Delhi, I returned home to reconnect with my roots and give back to my community. I belong to the sixth generation of a Nepali family that has been living in Kalimpong since the early 1900's. My love for the outdoors started at a young age and living in the Himalayas lent a natural inclination to the mountains. I completed with Grade 'A', Basic Mountaineering Course from Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling and have scaled Rhenock Peak in Sikkim, Stok Kangri in Ladakh, Imja Tse (Island Peak) in Nepal and trekked through the Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Singalila, Neora Valley, Dzongri and several others. I would now like to share these experiences and my knowledge of local history, culture, music, cuisine, environment, sustainable living and ecotourism, to make your travels an enriching experience.

The surrounding of the property is mostly terrace farms, it also offers scenic views of the hills and valley. There are some beautiful nature trails around which can be explore on walking trails or short hikes. Most of our neighbours are simple farming folks, while there is also an upcoming Buddhist school in the area as well as a Shiva temple which also runs a school for the priests.
