Adventure Stay is operated by Icelandic Mountain Guides, an established Icelandic travel company with decades of experience in creating authentic travel experiences across the country and part of the Icelandia family of travel companies. Our team manages a small collection of carefully placed huts and focuses on quality, safety, and responsible tourism rather than high-volume accommodation. Guests can expect clear communication, local knowledge, and a well-organised stay supported by a professional operations team. Sustainability, thoughtful design, and respect for the natural environment are central to how we develop and manage our tours and properties.

Adventure Stay includes a 4-wheel adventure in the magical surroundings of the black sand beach of Sólheimasandur followed by an overnight stay in a private hut. The accommodation offers a simple yet thoughtfully designed hut experience in a remote and peaceful natural setting, ideal for guests looking to slow down and reconnect with nature with extraordinary views. The huts are compact, comfortable, and purpose-built for short stays, with a focus on privacy, functionality, and a close connection to the surrounding landscape. Each hut features a cozy sleeping area, basic amenities for comfort, and large floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors in. USB charging ports are available for small devices. Adventure Stay is located at the foothill of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, in a quiet, nature-rich area away from crowds, making it ideal for guests seeking tranquillity and unique open landscapes. The surrounding area is characterised by wide views of the plains below and the Atlantic Ocean beyond, as well as incredible glacier views of its world-famous neighbour, the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The hut is designed to maximize on the surrounding landscapes and views, with glass ceilings in winter for aurora and star spotting. While the location is carefully picked to be remote and off grid, the Icelandic Mountain Guides service center is close by from where our tours depart during daylight hours. Guests are encouraged to explore the region by car and enjoy the slower pace of travel that the area offers, especially outside peak hours.
