Ásólfsstaðir Miðhóll is located in the beautiful Þjórsárdal. At Ásólfsstaðir guests can have a peaceful stay in the stillness of Icelandic nature. Various services are nearby, 17km to Árborg minimarket and swimming pool, 60km to Selfoss and 120km to Reykjavík.
We, the family at Ásólfsstaðir, have been hosts with Booking since 2015. We are hosts as a side job, our main job is outside the home, but we also run a small farm, cows and horses, on the land. It has been a great pleasure for us to meet all the diverse guests who have stayed at Ásólfsstaðir and hear about their experiences in Iceland.
Ásólfsstaðir Miðhóll is located in the beautiful Þjórsárdal. Þjórsárdalur was built over 20 farms in ancient times, which were destroyed in the great Hekla eruption in 1104. Now only two of these 20 farms are in the settlement Skriðufell and Ásólfsstaðir. In Þjórsárdal there is beautiful nature, green forests, rivers and waterfalls, and magnificent mountain views. There are many interesting places in Þjórsárdal, including the ruins at Stöng, and the replica of Stangarbær in Þjóveldisbærinn. Gjánna, Hjálparfoss, Háafoss
