Our family moved to Hestheimar 2016 . It´s a family run company, which focuses on good dining, relaxed atmosphere. We love to have guests and running Hestheimar is our passion and work. All guests are welcome.

Property info

Hestheimar is perfectly located in South Iceland — a truly strategic base for exploring the Golden Circle and the South Coast. We’re almost exactly halfway between Reykjavík and Vík, making it easy to visit Gullfoss, Geysir, Þingvellir, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara and more, all without long drives. Surrounded by open landscapes and our beautiful Icelandic horses, you’ll enjoy peace, nature, and breath-taking views — while still being close to everything you need. After a day of adventure, relax in one of our two outdoor hot tubs that stand outside of the main building (available for a small fee) and soak in the Icelandic atmosphere. The perfect balance between convenience and tranquillity.

Hestheimar enjoys a peaceful countryside setting, just 3 km from Iceland’s Ring Road (Route 1) — making it easy to reach while feeling wonderfully secluded. From here, you can admire views of the volcanoes Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. Horses roam all around the property, adding to the authentic Icelandic atmosphere. Guests can relax in our two outdoor hot tubs and unwind after a day of exploring. We’re also happy to assist you with travel tips and planning. A short drive brings you to Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, the Golden Circle highlights, and the ferry to the Westman Islands. The open fields surrounding Hestheimar also offer beautiful hiking opportunities right from your doorstep.
