Company info
The couple Jon and Edda took over the operation of Kviholmi in August 2023 after buying the farm Sydri-Kviholmi. The previous owners started renting four accommodation units in Kviholmi in 2017 after renovating an old, dignified farmhouse from scratch.
Jon is educated in computer science and Edda has an education from an agricultural university. They live nearby with their three children, who are of primary school age.
Property info
In the beginning of this year (2024) all four apartments at Kviholmi were renovated in a comfortable and cozy style under the guidance of an interior decorator. The new kitchenettes have among others an oven/microwave, stove, and a dishwasher. All beds are of good quality and full-size. The apartments have private entrance and are roomy with hardwood on floors, others than bathrooms which are tiled.
Neighborhood info
At Kviholmi you stay in a little distance, 3-4 minutes drive, from Route 1 where you will be outside the influence of car traffic and get a nice view to the mountains and excellent perspective to the unique Eyjafjallajökull glacier. This location is an excellent base to explore the wonders of South Iceland. Many interesting landmarks and other attractions are nearby or within 10 minutes to an hour's drive, like Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Skogar Museum, Solheimajokull and Black Beach. For day tours Vestmannaeyjar (20 min drive to the ferry), Jokulsarlon and Diamond Beach, the Golden Circle and Thingvellir.
