The property is owned and operated by a family-run entity with long-term local presence in the area. The owners reside on an adjacent farm, which allows for permanent on-site management, regular supervision, and efficient maintenance of the property. Rauðafell 1 is a former farmhouse constructed in 1969. The building underwent a full renovation during the winter of 2016–2017 and has since been maintained to a high standard.
