Skidbakki Guesthouse Located 20 km southeast of Hvolsvöllur on the Icelandic Horse Farm Skíðbakki III, our Guesthouse can accommodate 6-8 people on 100 m2. Completed in 2020, the house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large living, dining and cooking area with sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge and freezer, oven, stove and dishwasher. Each bathroom has a shower and a toilet. The quiet ambience, the elegant bathrooms and the cosy and comfortably equipped living and cooking area invite you to relax and unwind. Surrounded by horses, you have a great view of Vestmannaeyjar and the Eyjafjallajökull.
The guest house, as part of our family business, is located on the Icelandic horse farm Skíðbakki III, which is run by the german-Icelandic couple Sara Pesenacker and Erlendur Arnason. Erlendur, or Elli as we call him, was born and raised on Skíðbakki III. After studying agriculture at the University of Holar, he worked in Germany for 10 years on various Icelandic horse farms before returning to Iceland in 2004. He works mainly as a farrier and takes care of the agricultural work on the farm. When the opportunity arises, he likes to take care of the entertainment of his guests with interesting stories about Iceland and its inhabitants and musical entertainment. Sara was born and raised in Germany and discovered her love for the Icelandic horse there at an early age. After graduating from high school, she emigrated to Iceland with Elli in 2004. Since graduating from the University of Hólar, she has been involved in the riding and training of horses. It ensures that the Guesthouse is in good condition and that its guests feel comfortable.
